– The GR10 : is the main mountain footpath crossing the Pyrenees from the Atlantic Ocean (Hendaye) to the Mediterranean (Banyuls)
– From the Lac d’Estaing you can walk and discover the « lac de Plaa de Prat » or « Lac du Liantran ». The more adventurous can climb to the « Col de l’Ilhéou ».
– The Barrage du Tech is ideal for a family walk. From there you can take several hikes. « Lac de Suyen », « barrage de Migouélou ». From the Mig uélou refuge the valliant can continue their hike to the « Col d’Artouste » or « Col de l’Hospitalet ».
– Many hikes can be taken around the village of Arras en Lavedan by signposted routes.
– Take a trip to the « Mont de Gez « where you will discover magnificient views. By taking the road to Sireix you can arrive at the « Pic du Cabaliros » where you will find an orientation table which will help you to identify the surrounding summits.
– The last week end of May the shepherds take their flocks to the summer pastures – The Transhumance (see video)
– Visit farms that produce cheese, jams, cider…
– Ancient restored Presbytere used for numerous exhibitions « Chapelle Pouey Lahun also called Capera daurada or golden chapel, is on the road to Compostelle, la Via Tolosane which passes over the « Col du Somport » to Spain.
– The water mills at Arcizans Dessus, restored little water mills opened mid july to mid August.
– The Pyrenees National Park extends over 45 000 hectares of forests, pastures, summits, glaciers, cirques and valleys. The wildlife is abundant but discreet, lagopède, desman, marmots, bearded vultures, capercaillies, chamois, griffon vultures, golden eagles and ibex re-introduced in Cauterets in July 2014 and now reported in the Valley of Estaing.
